Slovenia in Europe.
Slovenia is a Central-European country, located at the place where the Adriatic
Sea cuts into the heart of mainland Europe, where the snowy peaks of the Alps
gradually give way to forests and plains. Slovenia has borders with Italy in the
west, Austria in the north, Hungary in the north-east, and Croatia in the south
and the east. It covers the area of 20.256 km2. The population is about 2 million.
Despite its size it offers great variability in terrain, climate, and culture.

Bled is a small town in the north-west part of
Slovenia located at the foothills of Julian Alps and Karavanke Mountains. It is one of
the leading tourist resorts in Slovenia with a long-time tourist tradition and offers
a healthy sub-alpine climate, magnificent scenery, and numerous possibilities for
recreation and special interest excursions.
3rd ICBEM and 1st Slo-CroMBE will take place at the Festival Hall
congress centre in Bled, located on the bank of an alpine lake, a remnant of the
last ice age. The alpine scenery of Bled is really picturesque. There is a small
island with a church on the lake and a mighty medieval castle overlooks the town
from a rock above the lake. Festival Hall is at a 5 minutes walking distance from
all hotels and most other accommodation facilities in Bled.
